Lacebound

Diseases of the mind and of the body have been erased from existence by the people of Elysium. Every member of the utopian civilization follow strict rules in order to achieve the absence of the ailments that every other known civilization has had to face since the beginning of time. Elysian citizens choose to keep the peace actively every day by following a long list of rules, including that every household includes only the same sex members of society. Men and women are raised in different parts of the city and are not allowed to interact, converse, or even look at each other. Every member of society is given up to the government after birth. Women are raised by the Mothers, and men are raised by the Masters. A select few are selected at the ripe age of eighteen to serve as the reproductive vessels to bring the new generation forward. In this society, every person is replaceable and every need that society may have for men or women is transactional. There is no need for either gender to interact together. And, if there is no need for the genders to interact together, then there is no such thing as a deep grief that is only found between lovers. In fact, love is a word that no longer exists in any of the dictionaries. Romance itself is long gone and has never existed for the Elysian citizens.
