Ever since Eleven's apparent death in the destruction of the Upside Down, Mike has only cared about two things. The first is storytelling, which he does constantly as a travel writer for Life magazine. The second is chasing waterfalls, traveling around the world searching in the hopes that not only could she still be alive somehow, but that they could be together again if he could only just find her.
Ever since graduation, Will has only cared about succeeding in college. Sure life in New York City is exhilarating, and there are endless possibilities of new people to meet, but he can enjoy it more after he gets his degree and dream job as a sound engineer on Broadway. No one makes him feel the same way that he used to feel, for someone else.
It's only when Nancy Wheeler reaches back out with a call for help on an in-progress investigative journalist piece, that Will and Mike meet again...and things are different this time.
