Crescent World
Lucas, the boy known as the Indexless Boy, is trapped in a small country called Fallowphore. He cannot go anywhere, cannot search for happiness, and spends every day repeating the same routines: doing maths, playing with wooden blocks, and counting how many flowers bloom in his mother's garden.
For an adventurous child like Lucas, such a life feels unbearably dull.
Until one night, his neighbor, Mr. Fibble, gives him two tickets to a circus show. Lucas, who is also an animal lover, becomes excited to see the performance.
But the tickets are not for a circus.
Instead, they lead to a mysterious "game" rumored to make anyone truly happy, or at least, that was what people told him. To Lucas, it only seemed to drive people insane.
