Lucien Vale had already lived forty-seven years as a killer when death found him.

When a goddess grants him another chance at life, she gives him a single mission. He is to watch over a girl destined to become the world's greatest enemy.

The girl is known only as Experiment 4-1-4.
A failed subject with unmeasurable mana.
Too powerful to control. Too dangerous to be allowed freedom.

Lucien does not believe in mercy. If the girl truly threatens the world, killing her would be the simplest solution. It was the instinct he trusted most.
