Aloi was just like every other Faery child--content with tending to the family garden, trading with the mushroom gnomes, or floating in the Mirrored Pools. It wasn't until her junior brother Mick was caught in a high tree that Aloi discovered she wasn't at all like the other children. Can she keep her secret and avoid being sent to live with the Elders--or worse--banished from Grovenglen altogether? I hope you enjoy the tale of Aloi as much as I did writing it. This isn't the end of her as I have a series of short tales planned that will introduce you to other residents of Elementia as well as a novel length tale that will bring them all together. That being said, I'd love any thoughts, comments, suggestions, and questions that you have to help me enrich and improve this story. Please add your thoughts here or within any of the following chapters. Thank you in advance and stay tuned for more!

Elaine Rainier had a pretty clear picture of how she hoped her future would turn out. All she ever dreamed of was to live a perfectly normal life and work as her adopted father's assistant blacksmith. Simple and easy. All that changed the day her sister was kidnapped, an event that turned her life upside down and sent it on a completely different course, all in the blink of an eye. Now Elaine is forced to face the past she preferred to leave far behind as she searches for her sister with the help of the Captain of the Guard, Gunter, who she might have been harboring secret feelings for since they were kids. But the captain has secrets of his own, ones he's reluctant to share, and he may or may not accept Elaine's own secrets, ones she had hoped would never see the light of day. Together, they head for the king's mountain estate where they hope to find safety from the assassins who took Elaine's sister, assassins who might have been after a different target altogether. All the while, Elaine tries to deny the fact that her future dreams may never become reality. **If you like stories about elemental magic and dragon shifters, then you've come to the right place. Have a look and I hope you enjoy! *This contains very mild language only.
