RETIREMENT

With joy filling the heart of a man,
He comes home, glad and fulfilled,
Having served his father's land,
Now he goes home a free man.

Many years spent in office,
Thirty-eight in steady stride,
I go home a free man.
Now time for family by his side.

Friends and loved ones, come rejoice with me,
Celebrate with me this day,
Merry for the work well done,
A life of service now laid away,
Be glad for my duty is fulfilled.

For dedication, a gift was given,
A car to mark the path he journeyed ,
The journey was not an easy one,
But his heart remained strong and broad.

With laughter, cheer, and warm embrace,
He honors the journey,
A man who served with steadfast grace,
Now I will rest well.

With joy and happiness,
He celebrated for a duty accomplished.
