What if Aang had died the night he ran away?

In a last-ditch effort to continue the cycle, the previous avatars who embodied Aang while in the avatar state made the decision: pull the plug. Aang drowns with Appa and both the airbenders and sky bison have officially gone extinct. And, as far as the world knows, so has the avatar. But the cycle continues. The next water and earth avatars had done their best in secret, but it wasn't enough to feign off the war and sacrificed themselves in order to continue the avatar spirit. The next avatar in rotation belongs to the fire nation, and who better to give the powers of the spirits and all the elements to than the son of a tyrant? Read as the Avatar, Prince Zuko struggles to define his choices, his relationships, and himself.
