An unearthly being terrorises the Homeless children of wartime London. The a zombified animated corpse of a dead child, sealed within a gas mask, roams the Blitzed streets and repeats the same phrase: 'Are you my mummy?' The Empty Child's plague spreads throughout the big smoke, and it looks like The Doctor is here to stop the spread. He finds the child's Mother, Nancy and needs her to reverse the Chula Nanogenes template. This alien ambulance has confused a gas-masked child for a human being - BUT... What if, instead of the German bomb, destined for the landing site of the Chula Ambulance, it was just a few minutes early - and wasn't stopped by Captain Jack Harkness? What if the bomb had killed Nancy? What if the Doctor didn't save her...? What if the empty infection spread? Right across the world...
