Ivera doesn't think about her past. Avoids it, even. She thinks that it's all over, that a life as a spy in Hedotis, though risky, could never rival what she once endured.

She's mistaken. The arrival of one rider breaks through what little peace she tries to build for herself. That's when she realizes that her past could be the key to saving herself, and the one thing she cares about.

Her place as a spy has taught her to run, to hide, but fate forces her to cease fleeing, and, for once, make a stand for herself.

Remember that this is a story about dragons, after all. He's always been there, just...unseen.
