The forgotten black || Sirius Blacks daughter

The letter smells wrong.

Not parchment and ink-England. Hogwarts. Familiar magic she hasn't allowed herself to miss.

Vespera Saiph Black reads it once. Then again. Slowly. Carefully. Like if she rushes, she might lose control.

Your father has escaped Azkaban.

Her fingers tighten.

Of course he has.

No letter.
No warning.
No explanation.

Not to her.

The rage blooms sharp and sudden, white-hot in her chest, but she doesn't flinch. Years at Durmstrang taught her better than that. Anger is a weapon-never let it show unless you're ready to use it.

She exhales through her nose, jaw locking.

So Sirius Black escapes one of the most secure prisons in the wizarding world... and still doesn't write to his own daughter.

Instead, he tells Remus Lupin.
And Remus tells her.

That's when it clicks. Too late. The first red flag she never saw.

Sirius Black didn't choose blood.
He chose loyalty-to James Potter, to a dead man's son, to ghosts of friendship-

-but not to her.

Vespera folds the letter with surgical precision.

If her father can choose someone else over his own blood, then fine.

She'll do what the Blacks have always done best.

She'll survive.
She'll remember.
And when she finally sees Sirius Black again-

He won't recognize the daughter he left behind.
