Oscar Weever has spent his life as the quiet collateral damage of the Weever legacy. As the middle child of the volatile Pete Weever, he was always too young to be the protector like Schuey, but too old to be the shielded baby like Portia. While his half-brother Beamer navigated his way down their fathers path, the three youngest siblings shared a common language of survival-until the authorities finally intervened. The aftermath of their rescue, however, proved that "safety" is a relative term. While Portia found solace in the arms of a nurturing family and Schuey channeled his trademark rebellion into a complex relationship with faith, Oscar was left in the shadows. Now trapped in a cold, transactional foster placement where he is treated as little more than a monthly government check, Oscar is spiraling. To his foster parents, he is a paycheck; to the school system, he is another "troubled" Weever. Struggling to reconcile the trauma of his past with a future that feels equally hollow, Oscar must decide if he will follow Schuey's path of defiance, or if he can finally find a voice of his own before he is truly forgotten.
