The Girl at the Salted Bean.

One vintage guitar. One hidden voice. One summer to remember how to live.

Seventeen-year-old Alexis is a master of blending into the background. As a barista at The Salted Bean, she hides behind the hiss of the espresso machine and the rhythmic routine of a seaside summer. Her goal is simple: save every cent to buy back the 1965 Gibson guitar-the last connection she has to the parents she lost ten years ago. She doesn't need friends, she doesn't need a spotlight, and she certainly doesn't need a distraction.

Then comes Chase Miller.

With his easy confidence and piercing blue eyes, the star rugby player is everything Alexis avoids. But while the rest of the town sees Chase as the untouchable "Golden Boy," he sees Alexis for exactly who she is. He hears the music she hums in the dark and notices the girl beneath the shy exterior.

As the humidity of August breaks into neon-lit nights and secret songs, Alexis begins to find the confidence she thought died with her parents. But summer is fleeting, and Chase's life in the city is a world away from her quiet café.

With the auction for her father's guitar looming and the final sunset of vacation approaching, Alexis must decide: Will she retreat back into the safety of her silence, or will she finally step into the light and sing?
