A lone cat wakes in the shadowed forest-wounded, starving, and with no memory of who she is. Every sound is a threat, every shadow a mystery. Survival is a puzzle she must solve alone... until a stray named Lark finds her.

Guided by his patience and humor, she learns the ways of the wild: where to hunt, where to hide, and-slowly-how to trust. But fragments of memory flare like hidden embers, hinting at a past she cannot grasp.

As she watches the five clans-Pineclan, Fogclan, Ridgeclan, Emberclan, and Willowclan-she begins to test her own cunning. Yet the forest whispers one question she cannot ignore: who was she before the fire inside her was forgotten?
