Before we Knew

There are times that seem harmless - until they aren't.

"Before We Knew" is a story of departures: some we make, and some made for us. The day a young woman leaves home for university is one of departure, into a future that is utterly her own, though she doesn't know that the course of her life has already been shaped by a past that precedes her.

Because love finds her so readily and so unforeseen, memory rests in the background. A mother bears what has been stolen from her. Silence crosses years and generations. And in place of an ignored chronology, time begins to synchronize itself.

Rather than a tale of betrayal, it is a tale of what is withheld, a tale of a love born of ignorance and the loss that is incurred too often in the learning.
