First love is supposed to feel like safety. Like certainty. Like home. For her, it felt like distance. Fresh out of high school and standing on the edge of adulthood, she falls in love with David-a boy only months younger than her, uncertain about life, tender in his confusion, and deeply entwined in her heart. Their love grows across cities and screens, built on late-night calls, shared dreams, and promises that feel unbreakable. When she gets into college and David doesn't, their paths diverge-but their love doesn't. They cling to each other through uncertainty, believing that love alone can bridge timing, ambition, and doubt. But some loves don't break loudly. They fracture slowly. As she steps into a future shaped by science and ambition, and David searches for himself in the shadows of his own choices, control begins to disguise itself as care, silence becomes a weapon, and love starts to hurt in ways she doesn't yet have words for. This is a story about first love and the pain it carries. About manipulation that doesn't look cruel-until it is. About the cost of loving deeply, and the quiet moment when a girl realizes that loving someone shouldn't mean losing herself.

Valeria didn't rush. She never did. Inez was pinned beneath her, wrist locked overhead, the hold precise and impersonal. Not pain. Control. Inez scoffed anyway. "That's it?" she sneered. "I've had tutors scarier than you." Valeria said nothing. The silence pressed in. "You don't scare me," Inez added, louder. Brattier. "You just-" "Enough." One word. Flat. Final. Valeria lifted Inez's chin with two fingers, detached as a correction. "Look at me," she said coolly. "If you're going to embarrass yourself, do it properly." Inez laughed, brittle. "You think this makes you powerful?" "I don't think," Valeria replied. "I decide." Her gaze never wavered. "You provoke because it's the last control you have." "I don't belong to you," Inez snapped. Valeria leaned in, voice razor-thin. "You are my wife. You belong to consequences." She released her grip. "Say it." "No." Valeria waited. The quiet broke Inez, she hated being ignored. "...I'll behave, I'll be a good girl" Inez muttered. "Specify." Inez swallowed hard. "...I'll be your good girl" Valeria stepped back, already distant. "Good," she said. "Remember why." #1 older women-13th February (FAST PACE BOOK)
