"And if I save your soul, you will be my servant?" His voice booms throughout the darkness. My knees shake, his precence making me dizzy. "Yes," I whimper, hoping it's right. "Very well, you are mine now." Death grips my chin, forcing me to look at him, "Dead Ringer." He seethes and I'm left alone. ======================================================================== There is nothing like a good betrayal to get you going. Addison's soul has been taken by Death, because he deems her worthy of being his servant, his assassin. She likes it that way, because it means that the fire burning through her veins can be put to good use instead of blowing up at everybody. Since 1940, after her death, Addison has worked in secret. Delivering souls to death and has become one of the most respected hunters in hell. That is, if you forget Mason Chettum, Death's right hand man. As a 17 year-old girl Addison is disguised as a quiet and polite girl at school. But one explosive day reveals her true nature to her peers, with this new found popularity how does this effect her mission to contain their souls? All new mysteries are being uncovered, Addison must discover what she was truly destined for, and what all these new people mean in her life. Even so, she must find out why death chose her to be the one, because she can bring his whole world crashing down if her allegiance to hell falters. So she must choose between the home she's always found with death, and the new world that awaits her. After all, life isn't easy being the dead ringer.
