Several years before the fall of Wall Maria, Manon Laraisé, the eldest of three children, joins the military to help provide for her impoverished family.

After hearing stories of Humanity's Strongest Soldier, she quickly realizes that he is the only superior she can truly respect and follow, and decides against better sense to join the Survey Corps. There, she meets the man behind the moniker, but will he live up to the legends she's been told?

As Manon serves in the Erwin Smith Squad and gets to know the engimatic Levi Ackerman, she begins to feel a pull towards him that surpasses her duty to herself, her family, and even humanity.

The closer they get, the more secrets upending their very world are revealed. Will they be able to find the world beyond the walls, or will these secrets tear them apart forever?
