Arlo is welcomed as a new member of Taurus, a refuge building for escaped mutants and victims of the scientists' experiments. However, being the son of Marlaethe, he finds his father's shadow follows him even after he ran away from him. He finds himself faced with the challenge of establishing his identity separate from his roots, and running from the fate that took his siblings as he learns to confront his past head on.
