Mike and Will had been distant since Spring 1986, often avoiding each other. During searches for Vecna, they'd almost always do their best to be in separate groups from each other, and when they'd end up in the same group, they wouldn't say a word to each other. But with Vecna coming back, Vecna takes Will into the upside down, and Mike follows Will without thinking, not wanting to lose him despite their damaged friendship. Now, Mike and Will are stuck in the upside down and are forced to rely on each other for survival.

Its basically an alternate ending where Mike and Will actually admit their feelings, and byler happensπ inspired by some of the cool theories I wish we got in season 5. I don't own any of the characters or the original story.
