When Ruby's father had been murdered by Kenny Ackerman, Levi stayed by her side, protecting her and keeping his true feelings for her hidden. The both of them soon meeting two new friends, Isabel Magnolia and Furlan Church. When they'd left to join the scouts, Ruby experienced the struggles of living in the underground alone. Meeting two new friends along the way.

When Ruby and Levi meet again, they continue to keep their feelings for eachother hidden, both scared of rejection and ruining their friendship. They stay together through all the chaos that unfolds, seeking to avenge the ones they've lost.

However, a mystery remains unsolved.

Why had Kenny chosen to kill her father? What was the meaning behind it? and more importantly, will this mystery be solved, or will the truth be left in the dark?
