The Pact That Unmade the Boundary

The story, The Pact That Unmade the Boundary, is about a young boy named Iyed who is considered "liminal"-too soft for traditional masculine roles but not sacred enough for a holy one. In a matriarchal, highly ritualized society, he is given over in a sacred pact to two powerful and opposing Sheikhas, Zaynab and Ṣafiyya, to form a "Three-Bodied Womb."

Initially, the two Sheikhas use Iyed as a battleground for their conflicting ideologies of discipline (Zaynab) and mercy (Ṣafiyya), nearly causing him to spiritually dissolve. The story tracks their journey from this dysfunctional, fractured triad to a genuine, loving, and supportive family. It is a slow, intimate exploration of power, control, vulnerability, and how a structure built for ownership can transform into a home built on freely-given love.
