Everyone has heard of "The Boy Who Lived", Harry Potter, the infant who defeated the Dark Lord Voldermort and survived the death curse. But, have you ever heard of his sister? Y/n Potter was her name. She was his younger twin. They even shared the same crib, and yet, no records of her existence well,'exist', at all. Even to Y/n herself, her family and existence was a mystery and she was far too young to remember what happened when her parents had died. Was she there? Was she hurt? Was she saved? She'd didn't know. All she did know was that she had been raised by a stern wizard ever since she could remember, a man by the name of 'Severus Snape'.
Unlike her brother, Y/n grew up in the wizarding world, perhaps her first words even a charm spell. And yet, it was odd that her brother was known by everyone in her world despite never stepping foot there and she was akin to a ghost with no past. How different yet very similar they were.
Y/n only knew of her brother thanks to Severus Snape. He told her of her supposed family, yet never explained what happened when she was young, only ever reiterating the same words; "The Dark Lord Killed them."
Perhaps you'd think growing up in the wizarding world it was obvious that she would enter Hogwarts, and yet, it was not till her fifteenth birthday that she finally got her letter. But...why? The man who raised her-Severus Snape-was a professor there, and she was certainly a witch, so...why only now? Why had she been forgotten so long? And why was she only just remembered now?
Despite her guardians advice, Y/n Potter decided to go to Hogwarts. Not to make friends. Not to learn magic. Not even to get powerful enough for revenge. But to find out who exactly she was. Who 'was' Y/n Potter?
That question would be difficult to answer, made increasingly more difficult by a Slytherin student who sought out to plan her demise.
A/N: Obviously I don't own Harry Potter! The only thing I own are my own characters and plot points!
