Mason Calumeria and Silas Tian are high school soccer rivals who can't stand each other on the field, constantly clashing in every game and argument. Mason is sharp-tongued, intense, and hides everything behind sarcasm and attitude, while Silas is guarded and distant, keeping everyone at arm's length. To everyone at school, they are nothing but enemies.
But something starts to shift after practice one day in the locker room.
Silas accidentally rolls up his sleeves too far, and Mason notices marks on his wrist. Silas quickly pulls his sleeves down, clearly uncomfortable, but Mason doesn't ask what happened. Instead, he reacts the only way he knows how-through snide remarks and biting comments meant to push Silas away before anything gets too real.
Even so, the moment lingers longer than either of them expects. Beneath the rivalry and sharp words, something begins to crack open-turning their hatred into something more complicated, and quietly pulling them toward each other in ways neither of them fully understands.
