In the tales whispered across the 99 Caverns, everyone knows Eli Shane-the prodigy, the hero, Will Shane's chosen boy. Few remember, or ever knew, Talia Shane, Eli's older sister. The one who was supposed to be next.
Talia grew up under Will's watchful eye. She devoured every lesson, every tale of the caverns below, convinced she would be the Shane to protect Slugterra's fragile balance. She trained harder than anyone, earned her father's rare nods of approval, and dreamed of the day they'd descend together.
Then Eli came along. Bright, talented, effortless. Will's gaze shifted, praise flowed easier, stories turned toward the "chosen one." The promise of Slugterra, once Talia's birthright, began to feel like a hand-me-down. And when the call finally came, the moment Will vanished, leaving behind the unspoken destiny for his heir, Talia's world fractured.
