Fresh out of rehab and carrying more ghosts than luggage, Eddie Munson's sister returns to Hawkins knowing the town remembers her too well. Jennifer has spent her life as a reluctant medium, caught permanently between the living and the dead, and Hawkins only sharpens the affliction. Radios whisper without power, lights flicker in her presence, and violent visions bleed into reality with increasing intensity, all pointing towards something malevolent stirring beneath the town.

Hawkins survives by burying its horrors beneath church hymns, shopping malls, and polite smiles, but Jennifer has never been particularly good at pretending. She drifts recklessly through parties, motel rooms, and bad decisions with the kind of careless charm that makes self-destruction look almost glamorous. Steve Harrington remains the worst of them all - bruised, exhausted, and tangled up with her in ways neither of them knows how to escape.

Because Hawkins does not choose people at random.
