lives shattered love lost, one day a farmer the next a soldier,

sent far from home, and torn from their loved ones,

these unexpected hero's, are swept away into the Great War that rages on, always hungry for more,

WAR makes men mad,
but humanity can shine from even the darkest hours,

and those brave hearts stand up fighting for love, freindship, and honer.

to the point of sacrificing everything,
even their own lives,

some made it,
others did not,
these are their storys,

The demon of the Cold Valley by dwaja0808

Please be warned:This Tragedy is not for people who prefers escapisam. There are no happy endings here. This is a Tragedy. This is for those that are broken. This is for those that are shatterd. You have been warned. So, proceed at your own peril. Now..for those that stayed...welcome my dear brothers and sisters to the greatest tragedy of your life. They came for me, when i had let my guard down. Even though i had expected the empire of the monsters and its acursed emperor, to come at me with everything they had. They came for me when i had least expected them too, in a way i had least predicted them too, using the methods and tactics that made them, and made him for who he is. See...Peace can do that too a man. Hope can do that too a man. light can do that too a man. It can make you lower your guard down. Even though i had honed my fists and mind, i would and should not have lowered my guard down. Because i had done so, the people i cherished the most-the men and women of the cold valley, suffered for my negligence and my incompetency. and worst of all my little brothers and sisters paid them, with their future and their innocence. By doing this they caused a bloody war. By taking from me they instigated a bloodshed. and either of them they should not have done. For They should have learnt from their mistake long ago, it was not mercy that made me give their, and his life back to him- it was anger. pure and fresh in very format and flavor. And the thing about any war, and the thing about any battle, is that the demons are always the one's to dominate. Because they are the incarnation of carnage and death. My name is of no importance. But the moniker, and the epithet called the demon of the clod valley that i use, is of the greatest of significance. And this is my tale. This is my tragedy. But most of all this is my conquest, and pursuit of justice.
"Almost Green" by NUmaker

Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!
Wildflowers In The Ruins: A 1917 Story by Snowdropsdream
18 parts Complete Mature
Completed fan fiction for the film 1917: This is the very first fan fiction I've ever attempted. Please be kind. I hope you like it. It features all of the main characters, several of the others, plus many I've created. Northern France, April 1917: A Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse is sent on an urgent mission across no-man's land accompanying two Lance Corporals, but she will have her own mission to fullfil also and be tested in ways she never deemed possible. Each chapter is named after a flower, relevant to the story, and that you can encounter growing in the wild, either in Britain or Northern France, with the exception of roses and Sweet William's. This story does contain spoilers from the film so it's really worth watching it first. Chapers two (from around halfway through) to eight I've taken directly from the film. The script is copyrighted to Sam Mendes and Krysty Wilson-Cairns, although I've worked from what's spoken in the film rather than off the script. I've taken inspiration from other films, television and books (fiction and non-fiction) set in the First World War too such as Forgotten Voices, The Roses Of No-Man's Land, War Horse, The Crimson Field, Private Peaceful, They Shall Not Grow Old, Testament Of Youth, Journey's End and Birdsong. I've also taken inspiration from the beautiful book A Song For Will which is based on the true story of the gardeners and labourers from the Heligan Estate in Cornwall. Every character who isn't featured in the film 1917 is fictitious and the names are entirely made-up, although every female character's Christian name in my story belongs to a female relative of mine who was alive at the time of the First World War, for example my four Great-grandmothers were Mary-Jane, Lavinia, Ada and Alice. The other names were from my Great and Great-Great-Aunts. Enjoy. ❤ 🌺 ☘ 🌻 💖 🍂 🌿 🌼 💗 🌲 🌸 🍃 💕 🌹 🌱 ⚘💝 🌳 🏵 💮 💌 🌾 💐 🍁 💞 🍀

"Maybe one day your highness, maybe if our stars finally align, if the day comes and I don't see everything I've lost in your eyes, in the scars that marr both our hands, maybe then we could love, beautifully, unapologetically" In a world that only knows war, where a young ruler struggles for peace, In a land plagued with blood and tears, the concept of peace being fragile, almost excruciatingly painful, a warrior is sent on a mission that just might put an end to it all, and very well be a beginning. But what happens when she finds more than she bargained for, in the pair of eyes she was meant to hate the most.
