After the whole situation of being stuck in the Upside Down, everyone had graduated. Meaning, everyone has now become an adult with a difficult adult life. Max and Lucas living with each other in an apartment, Eleven and Dustin staying together down in a secret bunker, and Will & Mike, staying at the Wheelers, close together.

Will Byers, now 23 years old, currently lives with Mike Wheeler. Due to his house being too old and stiff and not being beneficial enough for them to live there, a new stay at the Wheeler's won't be too bad, right? As the two live together at the Wheelers, they begin to get closer and closer until they can't keep their hands off each other. But as soon as they go to college, things start to change between them. Will finds a new love interest and Mike starts to ponder if he was really just Will's "Tammy". Jealousy kicks in, Mike tries to convince Will he's not his Tammy.

With another year going by, Will and Mike's relationship has drifted apart. From being the closest they could be to becoming complete strangers was a difficult transition for both of them. Christmas comes by, the two of them are willing to make a comeback together. Mike is willing to confess.
