"She climbed into the truck before her knees could change their mind. Aaron knocked twice on the roof and hauled himself into the passenger seat. Anthony put the truck in gear.
As they pulled away, Lily twisted in her seat to look back.
Dean stood in the driveway, boots untied, arms folded against the morning chill, watching them go. Behind him, the house loomed, the light in Sam's window still off. He lifted a hand once, in a small, tired wave.
She pressed her palm to the glass in answer.
Then the truck turned the corner, and he was gone.
She didn't call.
Six years later, in a hallway that smelled like bleach and blood in a town called Riverside, she saw those faces again, older, sharper, carved by everything the road had done to them."

~Please keep in mind that this is a fanfic that keeps the characters Dean and Sam, and general setting of Supernatural but doesn't follow the exact story of the show~
