Life is hard. School is stressful, home is... not the best, and his new quirk seems to be talking to him. After discovering that no, he's not going insane, he's speaking with the past users of One For All. And surprisingly they're pretty nice. They don't talk down to him, despite his quirkless past, and they all seem to have something in common. Yoichi shares his trauma. Kudo shares his drive, Bruce his loyalty. Shinomori finally gets it through his head that it's okay to take the time you need to prepare. Banjo is just plain fun, and En and Nana are like the brother he never had, and the mother he lost. Eventually they start to notice something's up with the young user. He seems distant in reality, always tired, and usually in pain. Until now they were just talking, but now it seems the ninth needs them more than ever if he is to escape from the house that is no longer a home.
