Before Merlin's hand could even fall, Arthur stood in front of him, fury, disgust and pain in his eyes as he held the blood soaked dagger from the deer against Merlin's throat.

The Warlock froze. "Oh," he whispered, shocked. "I- I didn't-"

Arthur's jaw clenched. "Didn't what, sorcerer. Didn't think id catch you? How long? How long have you been plotting?" He snapped and Merlin frowned, still shellshocked.

"Didn't think you- you would actually kill me," he murmured, Arthur faltering as Merlin stared at the red staining Arthur's forearms with a shaky smile.
