In the underground, the age of the sun is long gone. Only the stalactites remain, reflecting the faint light from the surface into those dark caverns. A distant echo of a freedom long forgotten.
Fear, loneliness, uncertainty. Going out at night has become synonymous with a death sentence. The Sovereign sees conspiracies everywhere - a wrong gesture, a word out of place. Even buying bread could cost you everything. The rebels believed they were bringing hope. They only made everything more dangerous. Now the underground doesn't just fear the queen - it fears itself.
And yet there are those who haven't stopped. Not out of courage - but out of the weight of those who reached out to you when you needed it most and whom you cannot abandon. For a question that never stops coming back, stubborn as a wound that won't heal: what if she's still in there? Will I be able to do the right thing?
