In the thin hours of the night, holed up in borrowed safehouses, Johnny "Soap" MacTavish watches Ghost unravel in ways no one else is meant to see. The mask comes off, but the ghosts don't. Simon Riley carries his past like shrapnel under the skin, and Soap can't decide which hurts more: how close they are in the dark, or how far apart they'll be come morning.

Every shared cigarette, every quiet confession feels temporary-stolen moments before orders tear them back into soldiers again. They cling to each other not because it's safe, but because it's the only place the pain softens.

By dawn, the walls go back up. The mask goes back on.
And they leave pieces of themselves behind in every safehouse they'll never return to.
