Beyond the Spotlight

Gabriel Wright was used to the attention but not the lack of it. He made Brooks University basketball team freshman year with pure talent and a large donation from his father. He grew up with people looking at him differently. Like an animal in a zoo. When people heard his last name instead of seeing him, they saw dollar signs and what he could give them. He was so used to it that he expected it. But then he met Ella and something was different. Maybe it was the way she wasn't impressed by the attention. Or how she didn't care about the game winning shots. She didn't bat an eye at the money either which is what drew him in the most. And now he gets blessed with being paired up with her for a class project. Now all he wants is for her to give him a sliver of attention.

Ella Henderson had one plan. Get into a good college, get her degree, and absolutely wreck the field of veterinary medicine. Ella grew up fighting for a way out of her dead-end town. So, when she got into Brooks University on a full ride scholarship she wasn't letting anything get in her way. Especially the school's rich golden boy who didn't have to work a day in his life. at least that was the plan.
