Then there is Ka'vani, daughter of Ikeyni, Olo'eykte of the Tayrangi clan. In the aftermath of the Great War, Jake and Neytiri forged a blood pact with Ikeyni: should each woman bear a child of the opposite sex, the two would be bound to one another. Neteyam and Ka'vani grew up knowing their futures were intertwined, though they would not meet until Ka'vani's tenth birthday-after which she came to live among the Omatikaya.

Ka'vani is everything Neteyam has never been allowed to be-bold, sharp-tongued, reckless, and utterly unafraid to speak her mind. Where Neteyam follows the rules, Ka'vani challenges them, pulling him toward laughter, rebellion, and feelings he was never meant to entertain.

As their bond deepens, the tides begin to shift, forcing the Sully family to make the impossible choice to leave everything they have ever known behind. But when Ka'vani encounters Ao'nung-the stubborn, hard-headed reef prince-the choice becomes even more complicated.
