Arcanics: Dark Times

Magic exists and there is no such thing as destiny. These are facts that Michael Fitzpatrick must come to accept. As a gifted academic, Fitz struggles to balance his time, relationships, and arrogance. This only becomes more difficult as he enrolls at Hartscorn University, a school for magically inclined practitioners. Attending school with his childhood friend seemed like a chance to try again; a new place, more rigorous studies, and fresh faces to befriend were all he wanted. Soon, myths and urban legends become self-fulfilling prophecies, and Fitz must learn to control the arcane abilities he manifests. The world atop ours, one of magic and possibilities, is still plagued with evil, torture, and death. As an order of magic users arises and begin hunting Fitz, he becomes entangled in the complex game of cat and mouse that forces him to evaluate his very core beliefs. When faced with the new Queen of Shadows, Fitz must decide if there is a difference between evil and desperation.
