When a new Epic calling himself Gridlock takes control of the highways, the city's lifelines turn into cages. Cars freeze bumper-to-bumper for days. Radios and camera feeds stutter into silence. Ambulances and supply runs only move if someone pays his price. In a place already ruled by Steelheart, Gridlock proves there's a worse kind of power than flying above the streets... controlling them.

Eli is just a courier-small, fast, and desperate enough to slip through the cracks the Epics don't bother to notice. But after witnessing Gridlock turn innocent people into statues on the asphalt, Eli refuses to stay invisible. When the Reckoners recruit him for one job-guide them through the city's forgotten tunnels-Eli is pulled into a mission that could finally break Gridlock's grip.

To kill an Epic, you don't just need bullets. You need a weakness.
