Gene has always had it rough. Ever since he could remember. With his family looking down on him and people in school nagging at him, he couldn't handle it. That is, until he found him.
Laurance was overwhelmed. Not only was he adopted, he also had sports and his friends to keep up with. But, once he joined high school, things seemed to be easier once he found him.
They both decided to keep it private between the two. Why? Both families were homophobic; they had to.
But, things go south one summer, when they break up due to unexplained reasons. How will they endure high school together when they could run into each other? Will either of them tell anyone of their secret relationship? Will they end up back together somehow?

Hey everyone! I started working on this book on January 23, 2026 when I was roleplaying with some friends in a Discord server. I came up with saying "i'ma create a fanfic about this..." as a joke until I realized, I actually had a story plot here.
So I want to thank the people I was roleplaying with for giving me inspiration to make this fanfic!
