Aleksander barely glances at the girl in question-his expression flat as he takes a sip from his glass of wine. He doesn't even bother lowering his voice when he replies,

"I'd rather court a sack of potatoes."

Dimitri chokes on air, hastily scribbling over the name in horror before looking around to make sure no one heard. "My lord!" he whisper-hisses, "You cannot say that about-"

A sharp elbow jab from Aleksander cuts him off mid-sentence.

Then the doors open once more and the announcer says loudly for all to hear.

"Iris Jane Bennet, youngest daughter of the Bennet family, accompanied by Lord Henry Bennet!"
