The Sully's were driven out by Quaritch after lo'ak decided to beat up spider for his treatment towards kiri in their relationship cheating on her. Jake decides to move out the city after realizing most of the city has shunned them by Quaritch's influence as army general.

Meeting up with an old friend he met through highschool to college Tonowari, he decides to ask him for help to settle down in his town with his family. In this new town he prays that his family can get over their inner problems including him and his disappointment of his second eldest son Lo'ak.
