A gifted schoolgirl programmer becomes trapped inside a hyper-realistic VR game after being flagged for creating alternate accounts. The game's developers-idolized by millions-turn her punishment into a live psychological experiment: she must either remain trapped forever and be erased from the system, or continue playing a game where death is permanent.
