In the year 2013, Mara, a seven year old girl recently suffers the loss of her mother. Her father gains custody and they move from Kansas to New York City. Mara begins to keep a diary of what she goes through with her new life.
Mara's father, Cole, begins an alcohol addiction and abuse. Mara, oblivious to the fact that this is wrong, is told to keep quiet about her father in school. Mara adores her father, but is it too late for her to be saved?
