Hiccup and Toothless left Berk thinking no one cared. Being the neglected child of Berk (despite his family, and being the heir to the village), Hiccup decided he'd had enough. He took Toothless and his most treasured belongings and high-tailed it out of there. When he runs into his long-lost mother, life looks up for Hiccup. He's found a place where he belongs. Meanwhile, on Berk, the village assumed Hiccup was dead by a Night Fury's doing and left it at that. Astrid and her friends, however, didn't think such. The Cosmic Fury
I got the idea for this story after reading @Night-FuryDreamer story Night Fury Venom and Night Fury Wrath. I am putting my own spin on the story itself because I have a new idea on where the story could go but if you want to read two EXTREMELY AMAZING STORIES I recommend you go check them out because honestly they are two of the best works of HTTYD fanfic that I've ever read. They top any of the ideas I've ever had. This story follows the journey of Hiccup as he discovers that his mere existence is thanks to two deities who were using him to keep the balance. What they didn't expect was that his role in the balance was flawed until the truth of who he is, is revealed allowing dark forces to grow in strength.
