After legendary spies Ben and Erica Hale finally settle into a rare moment of peace, they believe the most dangerous chapters of their lives are behind them. They're wrong.
Their son, Jake Hale, is fourteen, quiet, and far too exceptional for a normal life. In middle school, he's already a mathematical genius on par with his father, Level 16 in advanced mathematics, while also inheriting his mother's terrifying combat instincts. Along the way, he finds new friends, powerful rivals, and one particularly dangerous girl who might be both. But the academy is no longer just a school.
A new organization-even more secretive and more terrifying than the long-defeated Obsidian Directive-has begun to move in the shadows. Their first strike is devastating: a 100-million-dollar bounty is placed on every member of the team that once saved the world-Ben, Erica, and their closest allies. Hunted by every assassin, mercenary, and criminal syndicate on the planet, the adults are forced into hiding, which leaves only one line of defense.
