#1 The New Hero: Batpool

Batpool's story follows Evan Baez, a young boy who one day wished to become a superhero. One night, after creating his suit with the help of his sister, he became a new hero known as Batpool. He swings around with the grappling hook his sister made until he finds a gang. Evan fights this gang and is then killed by the leader known as Ronny Sholks.

Evan is sent to Heaven pisses off God; sent to Hell, pisses off Satan; Satan, God, and Death then discuss and Evan pisses them off again, causing them to give Evan immortality and a variety of powers.

After Evan is resurrected 20 seconds after death, Ronny freaks out, and Evan goes away.

Evan goes back out at Batpool, fights a villain, meets up with two superheroes who tell him that the Universal Guardians are looking for recruits and that Evan would be a good fit. Evan goes to the recruitment and after some training, the Universal Guardians leader, Mason, tells Evan he still has to prove himself.
