They welcomed her with smiles.
"Family is everything," they said.
"Trust us," they said.
"You're safe here."
She believed them once.
Behind closed doors, voices changed.
"Don't speak unless you're asked."
"Learn your place."
"She's just a burden."
Years passed inside that mansion-
quiet dinners, sharper glances, doors that closed too slowly.
Some watched her grow with hatred.
Some with hunger.
Some with fear.
"She thinks she belongs here now," someone laughed.
"Let her dream."
