I knew exactly how this story ended. I'd watched the movie a dozen times. I knew the red flags, the cheesy lines, and the body count.
But when I woke up in 1996 as Serafina Aisling, I realized two things:
The 90s smell a lot more like clove cigarettes and hairspray than I expected.
David McCall is much more dangerous when he knows you're reading his script.
I tried to stay in the background. I tried to save the girl. But when you look a predator in the eye and tell him you know his secrets, the plot changes.
In this version, I'm the Final Girl. And I'm rewriting the ending.
