When the Sky meets the Sea

God knows how helpless I must have looked that night-sitting on the sidewalk, crying-until a man appeared and gently placed a cap on my head. I still have it to this day. I wish I could meet him again just to thank him, because that night, he gave me hope. He gave me something to hold on to. It may seem small to others, but to me, it was everything. It was only when I got home, alone, that I noticed the words embroidered on it.

"Spread your wings and fly"

That was the beginning when I became a little bird, slowly learning to fly away from the nest that once sheltered me.
