Noelle is just a normal young adult living in Hawkins. When the Upside Down begins to open, she chooses to join the others in helping the kids fight back.

Time passes.

During an attempt to rescue the children from "Mr. Whatsit," everything goes wrong. Noelle is captured by a Demogorgon and taken to Camazotz. There, she discovers the truth Henry Creel, also known as Vecna, 001, or "Mr. Whatsit," has kidnapped her along with twelve other children as part of his plan to collide two worlds.

But Noelle's role is different.

To him, she is his "pretend wife."

She despises him at first everything he is, everything he's done. Yet, as time goes on, something begins to shift. Against her will, complicated feelings start to grow.

Now she's left with a question she never thought she'd have to face:
