Bloom Through the Mud

Indulekha, the youngest child of Pandu and Madri, obeys her mother's order and marries the PanchalKumari. She is known merely as the sister of the Pandavas. The glow of her moon-like face is what draws all the trouble towards them. And perhaps ephemeral peace and the unquenched thirst for love, too. Her life, torn between curses and vows, is a sorrowful saga of fleeting hope.

Draupadi, the fire-born, is divided amongst the six children of Pandu, reduced to the status of an object. A visionary of a prestigious life, the warmth of the fire. A wife to five men and one woman. She hangs on the snapping thread of contentment, trying to look for happiness in this torturous life of hers.

In the end, will the two reconcile with the life they seem to hate? Will their struggles, like the mud on a rainy day, bury them? Or will the two Kumaris, like a lotus, bloom through the mud?
