Vaggi is a down-on-her-luck college dropout working minimum wage and barely keeping up on rent and bills. Life is miserable. No friends, nothing to do that isn't too expensive, nothing.
But when a fortuneteller tells Vaggi she will find help in an unexpected place, and Vaggi finds a book of demonic summoning the very same day, she begins to wonder- could this be the key to solving her problems?

Charlie Morningstar, despite being the Princess of Hell, feels she has very little power to do...anything. She's forbidden to interfere with the yearly Exterminations. Sinners ridicule and harass her beloved hotel. The worst part is she had no one to support her. Her father is "too busy" all the time, her mother has been gone for seven years, and her friends have all slowly drifted away.
So when a chance to live in the human world, understand humans, understand how to help them, falls into Charlie's lap, she takes it without hesitation.
